At Grupo Intercom, it's important to us to make a positive contribution to society by using our skills, knowledge and experience to give something back.
Social Entrepreneurship

The best example of Grupo Intercom's social entrepreneurship is artesanum.com.
Grupo Intercom has used its knowledge and experience of the internet to create this online social project, which helps craftworkers from all corners of the globe (whether they're familiar with the internet or not) to create and maintain a showcase for their arts and crafts.
Grupo Intercom promises to donate, for a period of 20 years, the profits of artesanum.com to social projects in developing countries, many of which have communities where craftwork is the main source of income.

tuPatrocinio.com is a platform for free and direct connections between companies offering sponsorship with those looking for sponsors for their projects (in exchange for advertising, tax benefits, image boosting, etc).
One of the main objectives of tuPatrocinio.com is to help companies receive funding for their projects. The website offers its users a wide selection of tools to help them achieve their objectives. One of the site's newest tools are microdonations, which are intended to serve as a way for anyone who wishes to help out with a small contribution, to do so in a quick and easy manner.
Micro Business Angels
Micro Business Angels (MBA) is another of Grupo Intercom's social projects. The premise behind MBA is to invest in entrepreneurs from developing countries, who need economic resources to get their dream of starting a company, and creating jobs, going.
All of the profit generated by these new MBA companies that are developed by Grupo Intercom, and 100% of the total invested capital, will always be reinvested into new entrepreneural projects in African countries.
In 2010, we invested in our first MBA project: a bus route connecting the two largest cities in Cameroon. Our goal for 2011 is to invest in five new projects with similar characteristics.
Our vision with the MBA project is to become leaders in the field of creating small businesses in developing countries. This knowledge is (and always will be) shared, so that other companies and investors can benefit from our experience when venturing into business with talented and visionary entrepreneurs from countries where everything is yet to be started.
Social commitment

At Grupo Intercom, we participate in Teaming. Teaming is an initiative that consists of the collection of 'micro-donations' that wouldn't be feasible individually. This is the value of Teamwork. Our way of Teaming here at Grupo Intercom is to take one euro off the monthly payroll of each employee who wishes to participate.
Grupo Intercom collects the donations and then makes a donation, equal to the gathered sum, each year. Together we choose which charity, foundation or cause will receive the collected donation each year.
2011 Teaming Donation
Enriqueta Villavecchia Foundation. For the second time since we started doing Teaming in Grupo Intercom we made our donation to this foundation. Since 1989 they have been working to guarantee the quality of life children with cancer, as well as their families.
2010 Teaming Donation
Atención a niños y familias sin recursos de la Obra Social del Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, one of the Solidarity Schemes developed in and by the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. This scheme aims at helping children and families in need to cover basic health necessities such as hospital visits, hospital stays, accommodation for direct relatives or the patients themselves when hospitalization is long and at frequent intervals, among others.
2009 Teaming Donation
Social assistance and home attention project for children with cancer by the Enriqueta Villavecchia Foundation. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of life for children with cancer, as well as their families, by offering the available funds to help with costs (such as loss from earnings, travel expenses and paying for accommodation during long hospital stays).
2008 Teaming Donation
Research in the treatment of children's cancer by the Fundació Sant Joan de Déu. The project's goal is the consolidation of the molecular and cellular biology laboratory, which will be used for the diagnosis and research of developing tumors that appear during infancy.
2007 Teaming Donation
Sant Joan de Déu Hospital's Cuida'm Program in Barcelona. The project's goal is to offer technologically advanced sanitary treatment to children in underprivileged countries.
